Garhwa: After being on the run for the last one year, a wanted interstate criminal and his aide were arrested with arms in Garhwa, police said on Sunday.
Sonu Khan alias Shakil Ahmad, carrying a reward of Rs 40,000 on his head and his aide Arif Churifarosh were arrested from the former's house at Jhalua village under Garhwa police station area for their involvement in over a dozen criminal cases of loot, murder and extortion.

Police also recovered three countrymade pistols, nine live cartridges, four cell phones and a knife from their possession.
While Sonu is a resident of Jhalua village under Garhwa police station area, Arif belongs to Buxar district of Bihar.
Giving this information to mediapersons, Garhwa SDPO Prem Nath said: "They were wanted in over a dozen cases of extortion, loot and murder, among others. The gang of Sonu has been active in Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh besides Garhwa and Palamu districts of Jharkhand
They were involved in Rs. 4 lakh in cash from a local private Hospital, demanded Rs. 5 lakh extortion from superintending engineer Sunil Kumar of Garhwa electric supply division and murder of a bank manager in Ramna, said the SDPO adding that their further plan was murder of the mukhiya of Garhwa's Chhatarpur panchayat and loot SBI Pipra Kalan branch.
